Maternity Information System (MIS)

EuroKing is a suite of applications which can be used to record details about a patient's pregnancy and birth. The Maternity Information System (MIS) allows a user to observe and collate information about a patient's pregnancy. The MIS does not create new patient records, a patient's (i.e. mother's) information is directly populated from a Patient Administration System (PAS) or Hospital Information System (HIS).

View the EuroKing version number at the bottom left of the screen.

Your system administrator will give you log in details. Your password is case-sensitive, your username is not. Exiting EuroKing without logging out leaves any open records locked for 60 minutes.

Password

A system administrator assigns the initial password for a EuroKing user and can reset it if required.

Change password via Security > Change Current User Password.

Search for a Patient - MIS

To view patient information, from Home click Search for a patient. The search can be used to both find a patient (i.e. mother), or to find a baby.

Once details re entered, click to search for matching patients.
Clear Clear search fields.
Edit Opens the Edit Patient tab for the selected patient.
Add patient

Add a new patient. You will need their hospital number, NHS number, name, date of birth, and address.
Confirm Opens the Pregnancy List for the selected patient.
Add pregnancy Opens a new Pregnancy Record for the selected patient, if there is no currently open pregnancy.

  1. From the Home screen click Search for a patient. The Patient Search screen opens.

  2. Under Search Criteria, enter your patient's details.

    Hospital number Hospital number.
    NHS number NHS number. Automatically formatted upon entry.
    Forename(s) and surname Can include partial details, not case sensitive.
    Date of Birth Use the format DD/MM/YYYY. Automatically adds slashes as you type.
    Age Enter in years. Use a plus or minus variable to extend the age range.
    Delivery Date Returns all live births for the entered date. Use the format DD/MM/YYYY. Automatically adds slashes as you type.

  3. Press Enter. If there are over 20 results, multiple result pages are used. Click Next Page to view additional results.

  4. Double-click your patient:

    • If there are no pregnancies recorded on EuroKing, the Patient Details screen opens.

    • If there are one or more pregnancies, the Pregnancy List is displayed. Double-click a pregnancy.

    • If the patient is a baby, the baby's record opens.
