Manage Patient Reviewer users (cross-trust)

User validation is performed against any of the local Cris databases and the Connect database. Once signed in, the user is trusted throughout the region and can access Connect.

Users without an entry in a specific trust Staff table will be able to view patients and events. but will not be able to generate a report for that trust.

As external (non-radiology) clinicians will not be generating a report, a user account only needs to exist in their local Cris Staff table for Magentus Cris sites, or within the Connect user table for non-Magentus Cris sites. External clinicians will be validated against their local trust, even if they are searching for patients across the region.

Note:

This information is for administrators at sites using Connect for cross-trust reporting.

Tip:

Cris Communicator can be used to immediately notify referrers of important results. A key phrase in a report will trigger an email / SMS to the referrer.

Manage users

Reporting clinicians - Cris

Reporting clinicians need to be added to in the Staff table of each Cris database they will access, and be given the appropriate privileges.

Tip:

To make assigning work easier, set up reporting groups using the Cris Resources module.

Reporting clinicians - other RIS

Reporting clinicians need to be a valid reporter in the local RIS database.

External clinicians (referrers)

External clinicians within the trust need to be set up as Cris users (even if they already exist as referrers) to access Patient Reviewer, and be given the appropriate privileges. External clinicians do not need to be created in every connected Cris database for access to the regional record.

Tip:

For more information about managing users via core Cris see System Administration.

Audit external reporting

System administrators need to identify the cross-charging mechanism as requested by their local finance team and create, with the support of Magentus, a template for scheduled stats output to facilitate the cross charging of work, where appropriate. Managing and distributing the monthly output will be the responsibility of the local trust system administrator.

Configuration of the reporters against the local Cris database provides the trust with a mechanism for granting reporting privileges to external reporters. Stats on reporting activity can be run against these known reporters for validation of external reporting activity.

Reporting clinicians - Cris

For existing Magentus Cris sites, users will be managed within each Trust’s Cris user table.

Reporting clinicians - other RIS

For non-Magentus Cris sites a Connect user table will be available.

External clinicians (referrers)

Audit records for access will be stored against their local Cris database.
